April Empties: Lots of Body Products

Yes, it is that time again - time for another monthly empties. This is where I share mini reviews of the products that I've used up during the month. And this month there are quite a few, so let's get crackin'!

Dove go fresh Restore Body Wash in Blue Fig & Orange Blossom
I have used this Dove body wash for quite a while now, and I had really liked it. That was until I tried the Soap & Glory one. I still really love the scents they have in this range, but I just find it really drying when compared to the Soap & Glory one. This one is cheap and does the job, but if you have dry skin, I wouldn't recommend it!

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Sicilian Lemon
I've mentioned this hand soap before, so I won't blabber on about it. But it smells amazing, cleans well, and doesn't dry out my skin. Plus Bath & Body Works always has these on offer.

Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash
I've decided that this is my holy grail night time face wash. I started using it a while ago after watching one of Jen's (from Organized Jen) skincare routine videos. I liked that it claimed to clean skin without drying, but it was a full on cleanser. I prefer to use cleansing balms and milks for the morning, but at the end of the day I feel like I need something a bit more full on. I have used this one for about a year now, and one tube lasts me about 5 months. I will continue to repurchase this until my skincare needs change I think.

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Butter
So I really like The Body Shop Body Butters. The formula is great, and most of the scents are really nice, but this one...this one was awful. I LOVE lemon, and anyone that has been reading the blog for a while will know this, but this did NOT smell like lemon! It had this awful plastic-y medicinal scent. I could not wait to use this up so I could move on to my new favorites, the Soap & Glory Body Butters. I don't dislike the formula of The Body Shop Body Butter, but I much prefer the Soap & Glory ones which I will continue to repurchase over this one.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Fresh & Foamy Body Wash
Again, you've heard me profess my love for the Soap & Glory brand, so I won't go on and on. But like I mentioned above, I had used the Dove body wash for a really long time and had really liked it. When I got this one for Christmas, I went straight in. My skin never felt tight or itchy, and the scent was so yummy (like vanilla and lime). I use a textured body cloth with my body wash, and I noticed that even it was super silky when using this body wash. It lasted me for just about 5 months, and when I went back to the Dove body wash, my skin instantly rebelled! I was itchy and dry and even my textured cleansing cloth seemed more stiff and scratchy. I used it for about a week to see if my skin would adjust, but no luck. I got on Sephora's website and promptly ordered another Soap & Glory Body Wash (this time the Foam Call version - I will report on that later).

In short, if you have dry or sensitive skin, I highly recommend the Soap & Glory Body Wash!

Dove Refresh+Care Volume Dry Shampoo
This is my favorite dry shampoo, and I will continue to repurchase it. Even the Mr. likes it, and his hair is super oily! I've mentioned this in a Feature Friday post here if you'd like to read more about it.

Harney & Sons Royal Wedding Tea
My all time favorite tea. I will continue to repurchase it. This is true love guys. If you haven't read any of my other posts, I suggest you do if you'd like more information on this tea. I think I've mentioned it or Harney & Sons in just about all of them! If you like tea, I beg you to try this!

StriVectin-TL 360° Tightening Eye Serum
I ran out of my daytime eye cream and found this in my stash, so I decided to use it until I could get out to repurchase my regular one. This one has many claims, but the sample size is just not enough to get a real idea of how this stuff works. I didn't dislike it. It was light, smoothed on nicely, and dried quickly. I think it works fine for a daytime eye cream because it worked fine under makeup. The StriVectin brand is a bit pricey though. I just can't see spending that kind of money for something I don't need quite yet. Maybe as I age (gracefully I hope) my opinion will change. I'd say, if you had more need for a tightening eye treatment, this would be great.

Stella by Stella McCartney Purse Spray
Sadly, I used up the last drop of my signature scent. I love this perfume and will continue to repurchase it. There is something about it that makes me feel sexy and confident when I wear it. I have been rationing the last little bit for some time, but now it's gone and I think I may have shed a tear...

Dove go fresh Rebalance Beauty Bar in Plum and Sakura Blossom
Unlike the body wash, I don't find this soap drying at all. I do not use this all over my body (I use body wash for that). Dove has some really nice scents in this range. I think this one is my favorite though.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
My favorite lip balm, but due to its price, I only buy it as a treat from time to time. This one I got in my stocking for Christmas. It's lasted me almost 5 months because I only use it at night as part of my nighttime skincare routine. I won't run right out and grab this again, but I will repurchase it!

Amlactin Moisturizing Body Lotion
I talked about using a body lotion/butter with AHAs in a few weeks ago. I really like the Soap & Glory Butter Yourself, but I used it all up and went through my stash to see if I had anything else that contained AHAs. I found this one, and thought I'd check it out. It's not a nice as Butter Yourself, but it's more of a lotion and not a body butter, and it doesn't have a nice smell, but I do think it would do the job you'd expect of a lotion/cream with AHAs in. I will be sticking with the Soap & Glory one though.

What can I say, Soap & Glory has my heart right now!

That's what I've used up in April and what I thought. What did you use up during April? Would you repurchase it?

Warm Weather Morning Skincare Routine

The temperature has been in the high 70s and low 80s where I live over the last week. Time to change over to the warm weather products! I thought I'd take a minute to share my updated morning skincare routine.

Origins Make A Difference Rejuvenating Cleansing Milk
I start by squeezing out a blob of this lightweight cleansing milk onto my fingers. I massage into dry skin and then use a warm damp wash cloth to wipe off. This leaves no residue on the skin, but my face feels super fresh and not stripped at all. My skin started breaking out after using The Body Shop Cleansing Butter, but after using this for a few days, it cleared up. So, I 'm sad to say that I think my skin may not like that cleansing butter:( But I'm going to hold onto it and see if it may work better for me this coming Winter.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster
This has been the second step in my morning routine for sometime now. It is a boost of Vitamin C for my skin and I really feel like it helps brighten and tighten. It is a gel that sinks in very quickly and leaves no stickiness. For now, I am really enjoying using this as my morning serum step!

Clinique All About Eyes
While the Truth Serum sinks into my skin, I dab some of this eye cream under my eyes and around my brow bone. It is also a more gel formula than cream, so it is very cooling on the eyes. It glides on with a really silky feel, so it doesn't drag the delicate skin under your eyes. I really like this! It keeps my dark circles at bay and also de-puffs. It doesn't create any issues with makeup and is very light weight - that is why I use this as my daytime eye cream.

Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer
Now that my serum has dried, I go in with my daytime moisturizer. Right now I am using this one by Aveeno for sensitive skin. It has SPF 15 in which is great. I don't tend to use any other SPF on a regular basis, but if I were going to be in the sun a lot, I would add another SPF on top. I just use one pump and rub into my skin. This works great under makeup and doesn't make anything slide around on top.

DermStore Lip Quench
I'm not too picky when it comes to my morning lip balm. I just like it to be buttery and very moisturizing, but not sticky. This one was sent as a free sample with my last DermStore order. To me it has a bit of a berry or fruity scent, and it gives the lips a nice sheen without being shiney. This finishes off my morning skincare routine. If I were going to wear makeup, I'd put that on now, but most days I don't do anything else. By putting on lip balm at this stage, even if I were going to wear makeup that day, my lips would be nice and moisturized by the time I went to add any lip products. I never go without lip balm because my lips tend to be super dry, and that is never a good look!

See my routine in action by watching the accompanying video!

Feature Friday: Harney & Sons White Vanilla Grapefruit Tea

My favorite this week has been the Harney & Sons White Vanilla Grapefruit Tea. I placed an order last week because I was almost out of my Royal Wedding tea and, as I usually do, I picked up a few new varieties to give a go.

This time around I picked up Tower of London and this one. Although I don't drink a lot of black tea, my husband does and he loves the Tower of London. I haven't tried it yet, but it smells amazing! I have, however, fallen in love with the White Vanilla Grapefruit.

I like citrus and I love vanilla, so this sounded like a great combination for a Spring tea. I was expecting a super citrusy flavor, but was happily surprised when I took my first sip. It was extremely smooth, as all of the Harney & Sons teas that I've tried have been. But the most surprising thing was how well the vanilla mellowed out the grapefruit. It is bright and fresh without being too much. My husband who doesn't care for grapefruit even liked this one!

Just like the Royal Wedding, I take this with some agave and a splash of unsweetened almond milk, and it is just perfect. I'm certainly not over my first love, but I think this has quickly become my Springtime tea of choice!

Have you tried any new teas lately? Let me know if you give this one a try!

Random Haul: Target, Zoya and H&M

Over the last few weeks I've done a little shopping. Some things I had run out of and just needed to replace, and some things I have been eyeing up and finally jumped on...other things were completely unnecessary, but were a steal and I had to have! I didn't get all of these things in one go, but over a few weeks time I made a few trips to my local Target, placed an order at and, and stopped at the Clinique counter in Belk. Here is what I picked up!

The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin
Recently, I finished reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and have been craving a new book. I had a wander around my local library and wasn't seeing anything that sounded good to me. While I was having a little mooch around Target, I stopped at the book section and hoped something would jump out at me. The cover of this one did (how pretty is that!), so I picked it up and read the back. It sounded exactly like something I would love and the book itself feels really good in the hands (yes, I'm strange like that...if it doesn't feel good in my hands I won't want to read it). I won't give anything away, but it is supposed to be about an American heiress who is sent away to England in 1893 to find a title for herself. It just sounded like Downton Abbey (my fav TV show of late) and I absolutely LOVE anything from this time period! If you liked Downton Abbey, you will probably like this book.

Paper Tape - Stripes and Dots
How adorable are these 2 rolls of paper tape?! I found them in the Dollar Spot of my local Target! Each one was just $1, so I had to pick them up! These were completely unnecessary, and I have no idea how I will use them, but...look at them! I love everything about them; the colors, the prints, the packaging, and the PRICE! I will find a way to use these...or I may just set them on my desk and stare at them...Either way, $2 well spent I'd say!

Sticky Note Pad - Don't Forget
I am obsessed with sticky notes, but I prefer lined note paper - because I can't seem to write in a straight line to save my life when there are none. This, also found in the Dollar Spot of Target, was the best of both worlds! Plus it was, again, only $1! BARGAIN!!! They had the cutest patterns, but this one was my favorite. Of course, I didn't need sticky notes...but who does?!

Notecards - Stripe
I've gotten into writing little notes and actually MAILING them to people lately. How novel! I know...but there is something so exciting about getting a handwritten note in your mailbox. And if it comes on a super cute and colorful card - bonus! Plus, these were only $ I had to buy them...right?

Mini Cards + Envelopes
I have absolutely no idea what I will do with these mini cards and envelopes, but they are mini! Mini is always better than full size! I will probably jazz them up and leave little "love" notes for my hubs or my little humans, but for $1, I just couldn't leave them behind...especially when I was busy piling the other goodies from the range into my basket...they looked lonely! Oh stop! You would have bought them too!

Moving on...

Conair Shower Caps with Microban
For the last few year or so I have been using the same flimsy shower cap I swiped from a hotel stay, and the elastic finally gave out. That's a pretty good run for something that is meant for a few uses. I went ahead and grabbed this package while I was out and about. When I got home, I noticed that it had 2 in it - so I should be set for at least the next 2 years! There is one pretty patterned one and one plain clear one. The box says they have Microban in them to help deter any icky mold and mildew that comes from living in and around a warm wet environment.

TRESemme Healthy Volume Shampoo
I have absolutely no volume in my hair. I am always on the hunt for volumizing sprays and shampoos. So when I ran out of shampoo and needed to go buy a new one I went to TRESemme - my favorite drug store brand of the moment. I've not tried this yet, but it smells nice and comes in this massive bottle that will last me probably until the end of the year! I hope I like it...It claims to provide "Optimal Body & Fullness". We shall see!

NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait
There has been loads of hype around this product. It is creamier and more opaque than a lip gloss, but not quite as thick as a liquid lipstick type product. It has the signature NYX scent which smells like vanilla to me and I love it! This one is a super bright pink, but is very wearable and it feels very moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. There isn't a huge color range for these, but I will be picking up another one! They are great for this time of year when you don't want to wear a full on lipstick.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
Here is another repurchase. I ran out of my Up & Up facial wipes (in the blue and white packet) and these were on sale so I picked them up. I do prefer these to the Up & Up ones because they do not make my eyes burn and they aren't quite as wet as the Up & Up ones. I only use these to get the bulk of makeup off of my face on days when I wear it. Then I always go in with my actual cleanser for a proper cleaning job. So, I don't need a super wet facial wipe. I don't find that these irritate my skin at all, and that's pretty much all I can say about them.

Zoya Professional Lacquer in Odette
I saw this color on a few of my favorite YouTuber's (here it is on Missglamorazzi) in the last few months and feel in love with it! I trolled my local Ulta stores, but never could find it. So, I broke down and placed an order online. I'm not a huge nail polish junkie, but when I see a color that calls my name I have to make it mine. I haven't loved Zoya's formula in the past, but I'm hoping that it was just a matter of the wrong choice of base coat. I will keep you updated!

Clinique All About Eyes
This is a repurchase for me. I had a tiny sample pot of this eye cream from Clinique and used it up. I really liked it and found that it really did what it says on the tin - "Reduces Circles, Puffs". It is a light weight gel formula with no real scent so I find this to be perfect for daytime use. It glides on with a very silky feel and sinks in quickly making it work well under makeup. I will probably stick with this as my daytime eye cream until my skin needs change (read: until I start getting wrinkly and need a high test eye cream).

H&M Yoga Pants in Black
Recently, I got a pair of these crop yoga pants for my Birthday and I loved them so much I went straight out and ordered another pair in black. Nothing much to say about them other than I think they are well made, the material is nice, and they have a little mesh pocket on the inside of the waist that you could put your things in if you were going for a run or something.

H&M Jersey Top in Dark Blue
I thought this tank would be perfect for wearing to my boys soccer games or for running...or just hanging out at the Lake or the Beach. I love the material and cut of this shirt, and want it in every color!

H&M Jersey Top in Gray and Powder Pink
Last, but not least (if you are still with me at this point, you get major friend points), I grabbed the other 2 available colors of this shirt for the same reason I got the yoga pants above. I got this shirt in black for my Birthday and loved it so much that I needed more! You can probably see the details better on these than the original black one I showed in my Birthday Goodies post.

Have you been shopping lately? What did you find that you just couldn't walk away from?

Beauty Stash: The Oddballs

Let's be honest, we all have items in our beauty stash that we either haven't figured out how to wear or never will wear. If you are like me, you are reluctant to let these things go just in case an occasion pops up that you could use them. Like, I don't know...a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show downtown...

I've decided to open up my cabinets and share my oddball beauty stash items with you. Don't judge, you know there is at least one strange item you can't bare to part with in yours!

OFRA Eyeshadow ICE in Goldilocks
I love cream eyeshadow, and I'm not terribly put off by [tasteful] metallics, but this stuff just screams the Yellow Brick Road! I just cannot imagine an outfit or look that this would actually look good with. Not to mention, my eye lids would resemble a gold dollar coin - and we all know how well that went over!

Lash Card Mascara Shields
In theory, these mascara shields sound great. However, when I am getting ready in the morning, the last thing on my mind is, "Let me just grab one of my individually wrapped mascara shields and make sure my mascara doesn't end up all over my face." Granted, my mascara DOES end up on my eye lids most days, I just am not going to add the extra step of awkwardly holding one of these cards while I awkwardly contort my face to get my lashing looking longer and fuller...

Touch in SOL Feel Like Honey Moon Skin Base
Again, a skin base is probably a great step for any routine, however, why do you want gold flecks in it??? Do they break down on the skin giving a glittery look? Do they just sit on the skin making you look like a gold speckled Easter egg? Either way, it looks like disco ball in a tube and I'm just not willing to find out the hard way!

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Blush in Beach Please
I'm sure Be a Bombshell is a great cosmetic brand. I've heard loads about them in the beauty world, and nothing bad. But this blush is rather intimidating to me. The color is so bright in the pan that I just want see how it could ever blend enough to be natural looking. Sure, if I ever need to look like a porcelain doll, this would be my first choice! However, on the regular, I'm looking for something...well, a little less obvious. I'm sure this would look GREAT on somebody, but that somebody is not me.

J. Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in Volta
Tell me honestly, what was the first thing you noticed in this picture? If your answer was not the super sparkley, uber glittery cream eyeshadow palette, then you my friend, need to have your eyeballs checked post haste! Outside of the aforementioned showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, I just cannot fathom a time when I would EVER pull this palette out to actually apply to my skin...Yup, just tried again, and there is not one other time I can think of. Yet, I still haven't tossed it!

Now that I've shared my weird little beauty stash secrets, it's your turn. What is lingering in your makeup collection that you look at and think, "WTF (Who the F*&!) would it ever be acceptable for this to be worn?!"

Feature Friday: Haagen-Dazs Tiramisu Gelato

Today on Feature Friday, my favorite treat of the week!

If you like tiramisu, you will LOVE this new Haagen-Dazs Gelato in Tiramisu. My lovely hubby picked this up for me the other night because he knows how much I like tiramisu, and I'm so glad he did! This stuff is amazing. I can't eat much of it in a sitting because it is a bit of a treat in the calorie department, but it is definitely worth the splurge.

Haagen-Dazs describes it as tiramisu gelato with cocoa ladyfinger pieces. I'm not all that keen on the ladyfinger pieces, but the gelato itself tastes exactly like the dessert! I would have been just as happy if they had left out the cookie pieces because the flavor doesn't require them, if you ask me. They do have other flavors if tiramisu isn't your cup of tea. If you give it a try let me know what you thought!

What has been your favorite treat this week?

Birthday Goodies

Last week was my 33rd Birthday. Now before you start hurling old jokes at me, I'd like to share a few of my Birthday goodies with you. Mother's Day is coming up in the near future and I thought, "Hey, I'm a Mom and I loved this stuff. I wonder if other Mom-type people would like it." So, here you go...awesome Birthday gifts for the gal in your life, or equally nice Mother's Day gifts know...your Mom.

H&M Jersey Top in Black
I'm obsessed with H&M clothing. It's cheap and comfy and good quality. I tend to wear a lot of basics, and they do it best! This jersey top has a little pocket on the chest, rolled sleeves, and a rounded bottom hem. It is hard to see the details in this picture, so check out the link! You could dress this shirt up or bum around the house in it (which, let's be honest, is what I do). Anyway, I liked this shirt so much, I bought it in the pink color.

H&M Yoga Pants in Gray
I pretty much live in yoga pants and leggings, but recently I've had to toss a bunch of my old pairs and was in the market for some new ones. Now that the weather is warming up here, I was happy to get this crop pair. They have a little mesh pocket inside the waist for your key and cards or cash if you are running, and the bottom hems have elastic bands that you can cinch up and tie off if you like the gathered leg look. Again, I liked these so much I went out and got them in the other 2 colors.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
This mask has made the rounds in the beauty world for ages, and I've been dying to try it. Finally got my hands on it and can't wait to test it out. Now that the temperatures have been in the high 70s and low 80s, I'm not sure it is going to make the cut for a few months, but as soon as I give it a go I will update you.

ghd Professional Classic 1-inch Styler
My old straightener died...I had it for about 10 years and it was just time for a new one. Enter the ever popular and highly celebrated ghd's. I don't straighten my hair often, but when I do, I want it done right. I am sure I we will be friends for years to come.

Bose Mobile In-Ear Headset
I have rediculously sensitive ears. I love the sound quality of over ear headphones, but they hurt my ears after about 2 minutes. I also run and travel quite a bit - so having mobile in-ear headphones is very useful for me. The ones that come with iPhone's are OK, but the sound quality could be better and they definitely don't do anything in the comfort department. Bose makes great products when it comes to sound, and I had heard tons of reviews saying that these are the most comfortable ear buds on the market. After wearing them for a week, I do agree they are comfortable and they appear to be well made, but time will tell if they are the best on the market. I use my ear buds daily for hours at a time, so they will certainly be put to the test!

I'm excited to have these things added to my collection, and I hope you enjoyed a quick little review of them!

Most Repurchased Products #1

I, like many other people, tend to repurchase products when I find something that I really love. I thought it would be fun to start a new series of talking about said products. I am always looking for new holy grail items to add to my collection, so I'm sure this series could go on for eternity...I will save you all the pain and chat about 5 in each post.

It is likely I've blabbed about these things in previous posts since they are things I love and use regularly, so I will do my best to link to those posts for more information when there is one, and keep it short and sweet here. So, here we go...the first installment of  my most repurchased products!

Aquafresh Toothpaste
I've been buying this toothpaste for literally 13 years...outside of the next item on this list, this is probably THE most repurchased item, period. I've talked about it before in my last Empties post (and here) which you can check out if you want more information.

Secret Outlast Invisible Solid Deodorant
Since I started using deodorant, I've purchased some variation of the Secret Invisible Solid. Is this TMI, I don't think so...we all use deodorant...don't we??? I've tried others, but always go running back to Secret! Again, I've mentioned this before (here and here and here), so I won't bore you with the details here.

Tresemme Platinum Strength
This one is a fairly recent addition to the Most Repurchased Products list, but I think it is the best shampoo for my hair day-to-day...or every three days in my case. I like how it makes my hair feel, and it doesn't weigh it down at all. It also doesn't make my hair greasy, which is uber important when you only wash your hair every 2 to 3 days!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
Although this stuff is super duper expensive, I continue to repurchase it. I get away with it by only using it at night. This gives me about 4 months of use (liberal slathering at bed time) instead of 2 weeks (if used as my primary lip balm). You've heard me bang on about it and the white tubed one before though, so I will again direct you to those posts (here and here and here...oh and here).

Harney & Sons Royal Wedding Tea
I was going to leave this one out because I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, but I just couldn't. I keep this tea on hand all the time. If I get down to my last few tea bags, I place a new order so I don't have to go without it! Yes, I know they have other tea at this may not seem like it on this blog, but I have tried others and they are equally good. The Royal Wedding just happens to be my favorite and I can't seem to quit it. I have probably mentioned it in every other blog post I've written, so I will just link to my most detailed for you to get more information (here).

What are your most repurchased items? Do you tend to buy the same things over and over, or are you a product whore? I won't judge, I promise!

Feature Friday: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Next stop on my quest to conquer as many cleansing balms as possible; The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter.

I ran out of my Clinique Take the Day Off and decided to try out this cleansing butter. I had heard so much about it floating around the beauty blog and vlog world and thought, can't be bad. So off to my local Ulta, coupon in hand, I went!

To this point, I had tried and loved Lush Ultrabland and Clinique Take the Day Off. The only problem with these is a. Ultrabland is expensive ($29.95 for 3.5 oz.), the closest Lush store is 45 minutes away, and shipping on their site is expensive to just order this and b. Take the Day Off is something I can pickup from my local Belk store (about 15 minutes away), however, it is still a bit pricey ($28.50 for 3.8 oz.). When I priced The Body Shop Cleansing Butter, I saw it was regularly $15 (for 2.7 oz.)! Plus, you can always catch The Body Shop products on sale (currently there is a 40% off the Entire Store sale going on making this $9.00) which makes this girl happy!!! Like I said, I picked mine up from my local Ulta with a $3.50 coupon and ended up paying less than $8 for this tin.

The tin says that it works for All Skin Types, but if you ask me, I think pretty much all cleansing balm or butter type products work for all skin types. The only one that I've used that I think could possibly too heavy for an oily skin type would be the Lush one, and that is only because it is a really thick cream that doesn't wash off quite a clean as the other 2 I've tried. However, I get on really well with it, and I think it will continue to be my go to Winter Cleansing Balm.

I really like the scent of The Body Shop cleansing butter. Neither of the others I've tried have a scent at all, and that's fine, but it is a nice change to have a scented one. The scent is super subtle, but it is enough to notice. So if you don't like scented products, you may not like this one. It's a really nice light floral scent.

It comes out of the tin really buttery, as the name would suggest, and melts almost instantly into a creamy oil. It doubles up as a makeup remover for even my most stubborn makeup. I scoop out about a teaspoon's worth, rub between my fingers and massage all over my face. Then I take a warm damp washcloth and wipe off. It doesn't leave any sort of residue behind. My skin feels amazing and moisturized with just a hint of a refreshing scent that lingers just for a minute or so.

I should probably mention, because my husband wrinkled up his nose at this after reading the tin, it does NOT smell like camomile tea! I do not like the scent of camomile tea. For some reason, I just can't stomach it. I know many people adore it, but my husband and I aren't fans. However, this has more of a flowery camomile smell that I really like.

All in all, I could see this becoming my regular cleansing balm if for no other reason than it is cheap, does the job well, and it is easily accessible. If you are in the market for a new cleanser, I highly recommend you check it out!

What is your favorite cleansing balm? I'd love to check it out!

  3. Show us your favorite Spring dress! Nope...I'm not a dress kinda gal. My Spring uniform is jeans and a t-shirt with some sort of flats.
  4. What's your favorite flower? Hydrangeas. I have a hydrangea bush in front of my house, and I love the big puff balls of flowers they produce. So pretty!
  5. Favorite Spring scarf / accessory? This isn't particularly Spring-y, but I seem to wear the crap out of this thing! It goes with everything and it's a light material so it is perfect for Spring weather.
I got this as a gift years ago and have no idea where it came from. Sorry!
  6. What Spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, Fashion or Both!) Peachy coral colors for the lips, cheeks, nails, and clothing. I love to change over to brighter colors for the Spring. There is just something so refreshing about wearing this bright orangey pinky peach color!
    1. Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Hibiscus 2. M.A.C. Lustre Lipstick in See Shear 3. Splendid Slub Tee in Coral Pink 4. Bobbi Brown Nail Polish in Nectar
  7. Favorite Spring Candle? I know this comes out during the holiday time, but the Cranberry Pear Bellini candle from Bath & Body Works screams Spring to me, so I always save them to burn this time of year. Sorry guys, you can't get it right now...oops!
  8. Favorite body spray / perfume for Spring? I don't really change up my fragrance for the seasons, but I think anything fresh, bright, and floral would be perfect for Spring. Stella by Stella McCartney comes to mind.
  9. What is Spring like where you live? Where I live we have 70 degree days mixed with the odd 80 degree day along with rain and wind. Lots of sun!
  10. What's your favorite thing about Spring? Everything starts blooming, the birds come out in force, and you can go outside without a jacket. Plus, my Birthday is in the Spring!
  11. Are you a Spring cleaner? I'm one of those people that gets anxious if my space is cluttered. This is unfortunate because I have 2 boys under the age of 10 living in my house. That means that I could clean continuously for the rest of my life and never make any progress...It feels that way anyway. I wouldn't say I am exclusively a Spring cleaner, but I do think there is something that drives me to do a clean sweep as the weather changes and the sun is out more - umm, Energy maybe!
  12. Any plans for Spring Break or an upcoming vacation? If staying home with the aforementioned boys everyday and try to get some work done while keeping said boys from killing each other - sure! Who knows, maybe I will take a trip to visit family (ie. get someone else to entertain my kids while I try to get some work done in a different setting).
Happy Spring to you all! I'd love to see your answers to these questions. If you do this tag, let me know!

March Empties

Monthly empties time!

I was on a roll this month! Is it just me, or do any of you get super excited when your empties basket gets this full??? Anybody...Ok, I'll take the weirdo card today.

Anywho, we have a lot to get through today, so I won't waffle on anymore. Here are the products I used up in March and what I thought of them!

Agave in the Raw 100% Natural Organic Agave Nectar
I don't have a preference on brand when it comes to Agave Nectar...not yet anyway. They all seem to be about the same, in my opinion. I generally go with what I have a coupon for, what is on sale, or what is the cheapest. As long as it says it is organic and natural, I'm up to try it at least once. Agave Nectar is my sugar alternative of choice. I use it mostly in my hot tea, but have also used it in hot cereal. Anything that you'd put honey in, I think this would work fine as well. I found this at my local grocery store.

Lush BB Seaweed Fresh Face Mask
I had a bunch of empty tubs to turn in, so I went by my local Lush store and dumped them on the counter and asked about a brightening Fresh Face Mask. They took my containers and pointed me in the direction of this little guy. I walked out with it for FREE!!! Yes, FREE! When you turn in 5 empty black tubs you get a free Fresh Face Mask. This program speaks to me on so many levels - I LOVE to recycle and I LOVE free stuff and I LOVE Lush! What could be better?!

Oh yeah, so about the mask...I can't vouch for the brightening aspect because you get so few uses out of each pot and I don't think it is enough time to get the full effects, but my skin has never been softer than after using it! I love the Fresh Face Masks anyway, but out of the 3 I've tried, this is by far my favorite! I will definitely be picking this up again.

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm
Since I've started getting into Cleansing Balms, I am on a mission to try as many as I can. I picked this one up on the recommendation of Tanya Burr. I love the texture of this one. It's so silky and melts into your skin almost instantly. It has no scent at all, and it rinses off completely with no residue. My skin feels nice after using it, and it doesn't irritate or break me out. I use it in the morning for the most part, but I have used it at night when I've worn makeup because it acts as a makeup remover and cleanser in one! Gotta love multi-tasking products in your beauty routine. I would repurchase this, but because I am on a quest to try as many Cleansing Balms as possible, I probably won't yet.

Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Super Rich Body Cream
Surprise, Surprise...a Soap & Glory product. I LOVED this yummy smelling cream. It is nice and thick, but sinks into the skin fairly quickly. It doesn't leave you feeling sticky - all of the products from Soap & Glory sink in nicely. I will definitely be repurchasing this one as soon as I use up what I have!

Bath & Body Works Kitchen Lemon Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap
I love anything the smells of lemon. I love lemons. I love anything that tastes like lemon. Lemons are just my fav! So when Bath & Body Works has a sale on their Hand Soaps, I buy as many lemon scented ones as I can. The formula of these is my favorite that they do, and though I do love the Kitchen Lemon scent, the Sicilian Lemon is my favorite. However, as I was looking for the link to this soap, I noticed there are a few new ones (Lemon Chiffon Tart and Mediterranean Lemon) - will need to be making a purchase here I do believe!

Aquafresh Extreme Clean Deep Action Toothpaste in Mint Zest
This is probably one of my most repurchased items. I started using it probably 10 years ago and haven't bought any other toothpaste since. I don't like the gritty texture of most other brands. This stuff does the job and really makes my mouth feel clean. Plus it's cheap! Not much else you can say about a toothpaste, but this one is my fav. I don't have a preference when it comes to their variations, but I do like my toothpaste to have some sort of whitening action. If you are in the market for a new tube, give this one a try.

Harney & Sons Royal Wedding Tea
I'm not even going to bore you with more gushing about this tea and this brand (see past posts if you want the details of my love), but if you love tea - and even if you don't think you do - YOU NEED TO BUY THIS! I am over halfway through my current bag and will mos def repurchasing! You can get FREE Shipping on any order over $30 today through April 3rd at 11:59 pm EST - so go now!

Skintimate Skin Therapy Moisturizing Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin
I never had a preference on shaving gel, but this one has become my go to over the last year. I have dry skin and this stuff seems to moisturize as it does it's thing. I like the smell too.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15
I used this moisturizer while I was on Claravis (Accutane) and it was a great basic pick. There is nothing glamorous about it, but it has no scent and it doesn't irritate or break me out - plus it has SPF 15 which is really all I need because I don't spend a lot of time outside or even...near windows...that sounds a lot worse when you type it out. I'm not a hermit, I promise!

Up & Up Super Strength Cranberry Supplements
This may be a bit TMI, but after I had my second son, I started getting kidney infections regularly which have a tendency to cause other non-fun issues for us women...I'm keeping it real here folks! I've always known that cranberry juice is good for keeping UTIs at bay, but I don't like the added sugar that juices put into my diet. I decided to try a Cranberry Supplement. Most were huge pills that you had to take up to 8 of to get the proper dosage! I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy choking down a handful of pills each day. I found these at Target and have been buying them since. I take one small pill a day and it has kept the kidney infections away for almost 4 years!

Systane Ultra High Performance Lubricant Eye Drops
Can I first say - these things are freakin' expensive!!! I don't produce enough tears, so I have quite dry eyes. Since my job requires me to sit in front of a computer screen for the better part of the day, I need something to help. My eye doctor recommended these. I found that they do not irritate my eyes at all, but I have to use them up to a half dozen times a day to keep my eyes out of that dry sandpaper phase. That shit adds up yo! On my recent trip to Wally World (aka Walmart) I found a cheaper alternative, but I will talk about that in a future post I'm sure. Anywho, I probably won't be repurchasing these because they are expensive and I have to use them too frequently to justify the price.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster
I've already repurchased the full size of this product. I use it every morning on clean skin before I put on my moisturizer. It smells like oranges and sinks into my skin almost instantly locking in moisture and adding some Vitamin C and antioxidants back in. It claims to be a collagen booster, but how can you really tell? I'm still a bit young to notice any real issues with the elasticity of my skin, but I'm hoping that with use over time I will have less of a problem in that department. I do notice that I don't feel dry through out the day and my skin is much more radiant since I've been using this. I will probably continue repurchasing it until I have the need for something more high test...hopefully quite a few years from now!

Clinique All About Eyes
Last but not least, an eye cream. I'm forever on a quest for a Holy Grail eye cream, but I think I've found one for daytime at least. I had this as a deluxe sample from a past Clinique purchase. When I ran out of my Origins daytime eye cream, I pulled this out of my stash. I didn't hold much hope for it because it didn't really make many claims plus I'd never heard anything about it, but I like the brand, so I gave it a shot. It has a gel like texture and glides on and sinks in quickly. It feels really nice on the eyes in the morning. I did notice after using this up that my dark under eye circles were less noticeable, and that is always a good thing! I just went out and repurchased the full size of this yesterday, so that's something...

What did you lovelies use up in March? Have you tried any of these products?
