December Empties

Hi Lovlies, I'm back with my December empties. These are the few products I used up in the month of December.

Just a couple of random bits, so let's get crackin'!
Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Fortifying Shampoo
I generally just buy whatever shampoo is on sale and that I have a coupon for at the time. I end up getting crap shampoo and conditioner this way, but it does the job. I just can't justify spending $20 a bottle on something more high end right now. I got this bottle of Garnier Fructis at my local Target, but I found it on their website for like $2.99 or something. Super reasonable. It doesn't dry my hair out and I don't notice it making my hair too greasy either. I shampoo my hair every two days. I have repurchased this shampoo numerous times because it always seems to be on sale and I always have a coupon for it. If you need a standard shampoo that won't break the bank, thesis a good one.

Pure Silk Sensitive Skin Therapy Shave Cream
Again, I don't like to spend a lot on shaving cream. I generally buy whatever is on sale or what I have a coupon for. In this case, I had neither, so I just picked up whatever was the cheapest and was for sensitive skin. I have dry dry legs during the winter time, so I always use something that won't irritate my skin. I got this bottle at my local Walmart for something like a dollar! I found it on their website, but it doesn't have a price as they only sell it in store. I liked the smell of this one, kind of like peaches and cream, and it did the job, but it really did nothing in the way of hydration. I loved the price, but I don't think I'd buy this again unless my budget dictated it. I think there are other store brands that are a bit more hydrating for not a lot of money. This would be a great buy if you wanted to give the kids ago at playing in it...I used to do this when I was a kid!
Soap & Glory The Righhteous Butter Body Butter
I mentioned this one in a haul a while back. It was a total impulse buy when I was at the checkout online at Sephora. Turns out, this stuff is ah-mazing! I love it! I love the smell and I love what it does for my skin. It really hydrated my dry skin and left a nice, but not overwhelming scent. I used this up quickly and was left dying to try more Soap & Glory products. Now that you can get some of them at Sephora, I promptly put some items on my Wishlist over at Wishpot. All of the Soap & Glory products are a reasonable price. I paid $5.00 for this little 1 oz pot, and with the quality I don't mind spending the money. I'd totally recommend this one ladies! *Sidenote - try out Wishpot for wish lists, I love it!
Global Keratin Hair Taming System with Juvexin Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner
These were a part of a Glossybox earlier in the year. In keeping with using up my sample products, I pulled them out to give them a try. I loved the smell of both of these products, and they were really good sample sizes, but they really made my hair super greasy. I only used them once a week even! When I looked up these items, I found them at drugstore.com for $18.00 each. For that kind of money I don't want my hair super greasy, so I won't be repurchasing these, but maybe if you had thick more coarse hair it may be better.
That was all! Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for my 2012 Favorite Discoveries coming soon!

November Empties

Happy New Year Lovlies - long time! The holiday season is always a bit of a hectic time for me. 2012 was no exception. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, it is just a time of year that I resolve to only focusing on family...hence my extremely late empties posts. These are all of the products I used up in November.

There weren't too many, and most were sample sizes as I'm still dedicated to finishing what is in my stash. My DH is about ready to toss it all if I don't dwindle it down soon!
L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil

I had never tried a shower oil before, but this stuff had been getting a lot of air time among beauty bloggers/vloggers. I looked it up and found it on Amazon. I'm an Amazon Prime member, so anytime I can find something there and get free shipping I'm stoked! I believe I paid about $22.00 when I purchased it in early November, but when I researched it for this post it has jumped up to $24.00, but you save on shipping if you are a Prime member.

I liked this shower oil. I loved the smell and it moisturizer my skin without making it feel greasy. It's the strangest product. You squeeze the very liquidy oil out onto a cloth or pouf, run it under the water and it lathers up like a shower gel! I used it in the shower just like I would a shower gel. It's a really nice product, but I probably wouldn't run out and repurchase because of the price. I've found a few hydrating shower gel products recently that I like a lot better - more on that in future posts!

Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser

My sister recommended this cleanser to me. I got this small size in a set I purchased from Estée Lauder's website. I don't think you can purchase it on its own, but the full size is reasonable at $20.00 for 4.2 oz. It was a nice foamy cleanser. It left my skin feeling super clean. As a matter of fact it made my skin feel almost too clean! Because of this i wont be repurchasing it, but i think its a nice cleanser for the right skin type. I have, what I'd consider combination skin. It is dry, but gets shiny throughout the day and it acne prone...even still at the ripe old age of 31. I wouldn't recommend this for those with already dry skin, but anyone with combination to oily, I think this would be great for. Also anyone who likes their cleanser to really foam up...this stuff gives tons of bubbles!
Nutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser

This Nutrogena cleanser smelled amazing! I received this sample size in a Target Beauty Sample Bag for free, but it is super cheap. You can get a 6.7 oz bottle for $6.99 from Target, and it comes with a pump. The cleanser is a clear gel with micro fine goldy shimmer in. It doesn't make your face shine like a disco ball. It just gives a little highlight to dull skin, much like any other subtle skin highlighter would. The citrusy scent would make me repurchase on its own, but I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail cleanser. It doesn't offer much in the way of hydration, and that is something I find important in a facial cleanser at this stage in my life.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

This is another sample product I received in a Target Beauty Sample Bag for free. I have found countless coupons for this brand lately. I think they are really trying to get their name out there in the states as this brand is a UK brand having just recently been launched here. They are reasonable anyway at $4.99 for 25 wipes at Target, but with a coupon you can get them for next to nothing! I really like these, and I have already purchased the full size of these. I have tried and like other products by Simple as well. I mainly use these wipes to get my makeup off at night before I do a proper cleanse. I wouldn't recommend this as your only cleanse, but they do a good job of getting the bulk of my makeup off. I don't wear waterproof mascara so I can't say how they do with that, but it does remove liquid eyeliner just fine. I'm sure there are other great facial cleansing products out there, so although I like these enough to purchase them I'd still like to try others.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash

I love Sephora or anywhere that gives free samples when you place an order for that matter. That's where I got this sample. I was attracted to it because I have heard Este from EssieButton talk about the Body Hop Tea Tree line before. This size sample makes it hard to get a true feel for the product, but it didn't over dry my skin and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin either. Those two things alone would make it worth another try for me if it was a bit more hydrating on the skin. Like I said before, that's kind of a big deal for me. I've liked the Body Shop products I've tried in the past, and this is no exception. If I didn't have SO many samples to get through I'd probably purchase this to have on hand for those icky face days...you know the ones. At $4.00 for the 2 oz bottle on the Body Shop's website it's a real steal! Plus they say its a best seller, so there must be something to it.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

Another Sephora sample...I know, I know. This hand cream is THICK! It is great for really dry and damaged hands. During the winter my hands crack and get super red and painful. This stuff smoothed over and started to heal them with just a few applications. However, I HATED the smell of this stuff! I really liked the formula, but the smell was awful for me. It almost had an old glue type smell. If you can get past this its great stuff, but for me I will continue to look for the next best thing. You can't beat the packaging of L'Occitane products, so I may try out another scent when I get through the droves of other creams I have. The price is nice too. You can get the perfect purse sized tube containing 1 oz of product for $10.00 on the L'Occitane website. You only need the tiniest amount, so that tube would last me a good while.
Not a whole lot used up in November, but slow and steady wins the race right. I'll get through the masses at some point! I'm not allowing myself to purchase anything new that I have a sample for. Discipline!

Stay tuned for my December Empties post that will be up soon! Thanks for reading.

:)

*All products were either purchased with my own money or were samples that anyone can request online as advertised. I did not get paid to give my opinions on any of these items.
